On 31 January 2019, 18 students from all 3 junior schools travelled to Dubai to compete in the Primary World School Games 2019, in the multi-sports competition. Over 3 days our students competed in athletics, football and swimming against 20 schools from all parts of the world including Spain, Russia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and Bahrain among others.

Our team finished 10th overall across the 3 sports and did particularly well in athletics where the team narrowly missed out on 3rd overall. In football, both teams were defeated only once throughout the tournament, with the boys, unfortunately, finishing 5th despite winning all but one of their games. Our swimmers faced strong competition in the pool and fought hard in all their heats but were unable to qualify for the finals.

Throughout the trip, the students and teachers visit the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and spent the afternoon at the top of the building looking out over Dubai City, the beach area and the surrounding deserts. They also visited the Dubai mall where they were treated to the world-famous dancing fountains, a spectacular sight where fountains dance to music.

Well done to everyone who participated!
